The "China Port Association Science and Technology Award" is a national social force award jointly approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Reward Office. It is one of the most influential awards in the field of China's port science and technology. This year, a total of 180 projects from port enterprises, port and shipping research institutions, and universities across the country participated in the selection. Among the three projects that won the Grand Prize, TRUNK.TECH is the only one and also the first in the autonomous driving industry to win this Grand Prize. TRUNK.TECH is a technology enabler that continues to practice the construction of smart ports. It has insisted on driving the construction of smart ports with technological innovation for many years, empowering the high-quality development of the port industry. With an insight into the background of the integration of smart ports and unmanned driving applications, TRUNK.TECH has taken the lead in the industry to create multiple smart port project landing cases, quickly building a green and intelligent horizontal transportation system for customers, and continuously leading the practice and high-quality development of the autonomous driving industry in the entire logistics scenario with the attitude of a change-maker. "Research and Application of Key Technologies for Smart Green Container Terminals" is based on the intelligent container terminal project in the C section of the Beizhan Port Area of Tianjin Port. It carries out research and application of new generation smart green container terminal key technologies, ultimately achieving a breakthrough change in the key technologies and equipment of automated terminals. As a key member of the Tianjin Port Group's Smart Port Innovation Consortium, TRUNK.TECH has participated in the construction and operation of the intelligent container terminal in the C section of the Beizhan Port Area from scratch to one, helping it to become the world's most intelligent automated container terminal.

At the current stage, TRUNK.TECH has delivered 60 ART (Autonomous Rail Transport) intelligent horizontal transport robots and 6 unmanned electric trucks to the Section C terminal of the Beizhan Port Area of Tianjin Port. These are operating in real and complex working scenarios, carrying out high-precision, fully unmanned, round-the-clock, safe, and stable autonomous horizontal transportation of containers, effectively improving the overall operational efficiency of the terminal. According to data released by the Tianjin Port Group, the single bridge operation efficiency of the Section C terminal has increased by more than 40%, the average detention time of external trucks has been reduced to 8.6 minutes, and the average comprehensive single consumption of equipment has decreased by more than 30%, leading the industry.

As a National High-tech Enterprise that has been deeply involved in smart port scenarios since its establishment, TRUNK.TECH officially launched the Trunk Port Autonomous Driving Solutions of Smart Port in 2019, which has been scaled and implemented in important domestic ports such as Tianjin Port and Ningbo-Zhoushan Port. In 2022, the solution was further upgraded and iterated, based on the "AiTruck-AiBox-Trunk Fit" three-dimensional collaborative architecture, to build a new generation of green and intelligent horizontal transportation system. The new solution, with its high flexibility and adaptability, can be widely applied to both traditional manual terminals and newly built automated terminals, covering various application needs of different automation levels of terminals, such as deep mixed traffic and full unmanned scenarios.

At present, TRUNK.TECH has the capability for in-depth mixed traffic and fully unmanned driving in ports. Even at busy intersections without traffic signal control, where there is mixed traffic of external manned trucks, manned internal trucks, pedestrians, small trucks, and others during night conditions, the unmanned trucks can pass safely and smoothly. Meanwhile, Trunk Port, with its strong generalization ability, continues to explore a broader and more diversified range of business scenarios, such as inland river ports, inland ports, railway port distribution, and smart customs clearance at border ports, continuously expanding the application boundaries of autonomous driving technology. It has accumulated the operation of more than a hundred unmanned trucks, leading the industry. According to statistics, the Trunk Port solution has transported more than 1.2 million TEUs of containers, with a cumulative transportation distance exceeding 1.3 million kilometers. The peak transportation efficiency of unmanned operation can reach 56 TEUs per hour, continuously helping port customers to reduce costs, increase efficiency, and achieve safety and low-carbon goals. Smart ports are led by TRUNK.TECH. In the future, TRUNK.TECH will also continue to adhere to providing more port hub customers with more outstanding and high-quality unmanned driving products and services, leading the construction of smart and green ports around the world to develop upwards.
