On March 17th, the "Tianjin Port Green Intelligent Professional Docking Technology Demonstration Project," jointly created by Tianjin Port and TRUNK.TECH, successfully passed the on-site acceptance organized by the Ministry of Transport, marking a milestone achievement for the Tianjin Port Group in representing the construction of world-class ports in China. At the same time, the implementation of the demonstration project has profound significance for the application and promotion of technologies related to the automated operation and energy-saving and environmental protection of professional docks in our country.

The Science and Technology Demonstration Project in Transportation is an important vehicle for the Ministry of Transport to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, support major construction projects, and serve the implementation of major strategies. In February 2020, Tianjin Port Group, in conjunction with the Tianjin Water Transport Engineering Science Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport, initiated the "Tianjin Port Green Intelligent Professional Docking Technology Demonstration Project." This demonstration project closely follows the "green intelligence" theme, focusing on the research and application of green intelligent transformation technology for professional container terminals, the research and application of green intelligent transformation technology for professional coal terminals, the development and application of a green intelligent energy control platform, and the research and application of a green intelligent port index system. It has concentrated on promoting the application of advanced technologies such as automated transformation of yards, construction of energy control platforms, and pollution control.1.1.png

In the construction of this national science and technology demonstration project, TRUNK.TECH, as an important technical support unit, fully leveraged its leading global autonomous driving technology advantages, fully cooperated with Tianjin Port to advance the construction and summarization of the demonstration project at a high level, and continuously helped Tianjin Port to build a world-class green smart port with "first-class facilities, first-class technology, first-class management, and first-class service," forming replicable and promotable technical achievements and management models in green smart ports. After on-site inspection and acceptance review, the acceptance committee unanimously believed that the "Tianjin Port Green Intelligent Professional Docking Technology Demonstration Project," relying on the Tianjin Port dock reconstruction project, implemented new technology research and demonstration such as the automation transformation of container terminals and coal terminals, the construction of green intelligent energy management platforms, and pollution control of coal terminals, and formulated an advanced green intelligent port index system, completing the specified demonstration tasks. Among them, based on the research results of the demonstration project, Tianjin Port has built The World's First Zero-carbon Smart Terminal - the C-section intelligent container terminal of the Beizhan area of Tianjin Port, which has fully played the role of a science and technology demonstration.1.1.png

The C-section intelligent container terminal at the Beizhan area of Tianjin Port is a "benchmark project" of the smart port created with the support of TRUNK.TECH. It is the container terminal with the highest level of intelligence, the shortest construction period, the best operational effect, the lowest comprehensive investment, the widest application range, and the best green development. The project has achieved multiple firsts globally: the world's first self-developed, truly AI-based "intelligent horizontal transportation system"; the world's first to achieve vehicle-road collaborative ultra-L4 level of unmanned driving on a large scale in the port for commercial use; the world's first to achieve the true integration and innovation of "5G + Beidou" for all-weather, all-scenario, and all-scenario ubiquitous intelligence; the world's first to achieve green electricity self-generation and self-use, self-sufficiency, and zero carbon emissions throughout the entire process of terminal operation... Based on the core technology of autonomous driving with independent intellectual property rights, the ART intelligent horizontal transportation robot created by TRUNK.TECH is equipped with a full-stack self-developed "AiTrucker" L4 Autonomous Driving System, which has the ability of "full unmanned driving," achieving high precision, fully unmanned, all-weather, and safe and stable container autonomous horizontal transportation operations in the real complex working scenarios of the port. At the same time, ART uses new energy power, significantly reducing energy consumption and lowering operating costs, truly achieving "zero carbon" emissions. This year, with the continuous upgrade and optimization of production technology, smart systems, and single vehicle performance, the operational efficiency of the C-section intelligent container terminal will be improved from the initial 16 to 17 boxes per hour to the designed target of 39 boxes per hour, once again significantly increasing the overall operational efficiency of the terminal.
