Recently, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications of the first batch of intelligent transportation (automatic driving and intelligent shipping direction) pilot application tasks - "Tianjin Port to Majuqiao Logistics Park Road Freight Automatic Driving Pilot Application" (hereinafter referred to as the Tong Gang Da Yuan project) in the (hereinafter referred to as Tong Gang Da Yuan project) started regular road test and formation self-driving test on Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Expressway, and will be the first to start commercialized trial operation, exploring the new business model of "intelligent freight transportation channel + self-driving transportation capacity".
The project is led by China Merchants Highway, China Merchants New Intelligence is responsible for the overall design of the project, key product research and development, system integration and construction, program standards and specifications preparation, and TRUNK.TECH is responsible for the research and development of the self-driving truck queue technology and the joint testing and operation, the project will effectively promote the construction of intelligent freight transportation channel in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the integration of the development of intelligent logistics. Since the project was approved and launched in 2022, TRUNK.TECH has continued to actively work with China Merchants Highway, China Merchants New Intelligence and other cooperative units to carry out the project construction, and at the end of that year, it initially completed the closed-loop self-testing and operation of the whole process of the self-driving truck formation loading from the port of Tianjin, through the Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Highway to the Majuqiao Logistics Park.
In December 2023, the Beijing and Tianjin sections of the Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Expressway were formally included in the work of self-driving vehicle lanes road, so that the Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Expressway has become the first cross-provincial and municipal self-driving test road in China to support vehicle-road coordination, with a total length of more than 100 kilometers of the test section, and the demonstration application of the self-driving trucks will be tested at speeds of no more than 80 kilometers/hour, and the main driver's seat of the vehicle will be set up with a safety officer.In January 2024, TRUNK.TECH, together with China Merchants Highway and China Merchants Xinzhi, formally launched the real vehicle test.In addition to single-vehicle self-driving truck cargo test, it will also focus on 2-3-vehicle formation self-driving test, and jointly explore with logistics enterprises to carry out the commercial operation of real cargo transportation.
